Merchandise sales for last year’s megahit movie Frozen are not the reason Disney (DIS) stock is soaring, but they aren’t hurting things. Likewise the success of this holiday season’s screen fare, Big Hero Six and its very-expensive-albeit-technically-amazing production tools, is also a welcome surprise in revenue help. But the soon–to-be biggest revenue driver of this time of year has probably eluded most investors—college football’s new playoffs. Advertising money from ESPN, the biggest source of Disney’s revenue, will likely increase enough to make Disney execs exclaim, “Roll Tide.”
