Tuesday Sector Laggards: Energy, Services

The worst performing sector as of midday Tuesday is the Energy sector, showing a 0.5% loss. Within that group, Range Resources Corp (NYSE: RRC) and Valero Energy Corp. (NYSE: VLO) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 3.0% and 2.5%, respectively. Among energy ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (AMEX: XLE), which is down 0.3% on the day, and up 9.69% year-to-date. Range Resources Corp, meanwhile, is up 6.13% year-to-date, and Valero Energy Corp. is up 7.12% year-to-date. Combined, RRC and VLO make up approximately 3.3% of the underlying holdings of XLE.
