Among the high volume ETFs, one ETF closely following materials stocks is the Materials Select Sector SPDR ETF (AMEX: XLB), which is down 0.1% on the day, and up 5.45% year-to-date. Newmont Mining Corp. , meanwhile, is down 1.04% year-to-date, and Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold, is down 8.49% year-to-date. Combined, NEM and FCX make up approximately 7.8% of the underlying holdings of XLB.
