(Kitco News) – Gold prices ended the U.S. day session firmer and hit a two-week high Tuesday. Some more short covering was featured, along with some technically related buying, as the bears may now be exhausted for the time being. August Comex gold was last up $6.40 at $1,260.40 an ounce. Spot gold was last quoted up $8.40 at $1,261.00. July Comex silver last traded up $0.114 at $19.18 an ounce.
